There’s just under a week left to bid on an auction for a complete airfield complete with hangars, fuel farm, odffices and more in Spain.
Ocaña Airfield, 60km from Madrid, has been put up for public auction with a minimum bid of €1,060,000.
The airfield has a total area of 379,266 square metres, two crossed runways of 1,280 and 700 metres, and a 23,400sqm aircraft parking apron. It is designed for the operation of aircraft between 15 and 24 metres in size and wingspan.
Auctioneer Escrapalia said, “The airfield can be used for activities related to the aeronautical and innovation industries, such as general and sport aviation, gliding, UAS (drones), aerial work, construction and manufacturing of aeronautical material and R&D projects in mobility or energy efficiency.”
There are two hangars of 1,600sqm each, with a main hall, office and toilets, plus a hangar of 1,871sqm with two floors: a ground floor for aircraft maintenance, workshops, storage areas and changing rooms, and an upper floor with training rooms and offices.
There’s a house for students, accessed by a paved road with three floors and 43 rooms, classrooms, offices, a bar and a restaurant, as well as a rest area with a swimming pool, playground and gardens.
Bids may be submitted in sealed envelopes up to 4 February 2022. The opening ceremony will be held on 10 February 2022, and can be followed via streaming. Afterwards, an online auction will be held on the same Escrapalia portal among the three highest bids from 14-17 February 2022.
The minimum bid to participate is €1,060,000 and a security deposit of 5% of the minimum bid, i.e. €53,000, must be made and will be returned at the end of the auction to guarantee a commitment to purchase.
